| Devivara Prasad sore at Golden Jubilee |
|
Noted producer and former president of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce Devivara Prasad expressed his dissatisfaction over the conduct of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and alleged that the aim behind the celebrations turned a big question mark. The organizing committee failed to invite the first generation film artistes in a proper way. He says, 'The organizers first said that they would felicitate Kanakam, an artiste of the first generation of Telugu cinema, but later turned down their promise. The first generation woman producer and artiste Krishnaveni was also not invited in an honorable way. There were several loopholes in organizing the event. Earlier it was announced that the organizing committee would felicitate the seniors from all the 24 departments of the film industry, but the list was drastically reduced. It is like a marriage in a family. How far it is justified to demand entry fee to watch the event. It is not known why the event is being organized and for whose sake.' KB Tilak says, 'In fact, the event should focus on the review of the entire film industry's journey for the past 75 years and should chalk out a future course of action. But nothing of that sort could be seen in the celebrations.' |
