Ruchi Narain, history student of St Xaviers college, Mumbai single handedly raised the funds of Rs. two and half Crores to make her debut 'Kal' - a crime thriller. The film will hit the theatres in coming September. "I didn't want to start with something very modest. The idea of doing this film came to me when I was actually going through a similar phase in my life. The film deals with what happens when her boyfriend who marries her best friend ditches Bhavna, a high society Mumbai girl. Even a year after the marriage, Bhavna isn't able to get over the shock. Matters take a new turn when one night her former boyfriend lands up in her house and spends the night there. The next morning she wakes up to find the papers carrying the news of the murder of her ex-boyfriend's wife. Bhavna can't fathom how to deal with this shock. She knows the victim and the accused (her ex-boyfriend). That's when she decided find out the truth", she explains.
