Deepal Shaw is playing the main lead in 'Kalyug'(earlier titled Blue Film), directed by Mohit Suri (Zeher), her much-hyped debut film 'Daag - The Shades of Love' has been stalled for the last eleven months. The film, which has Ashmit Patel as the hero and Tejaswini Kolhapure in a parallel lead, was shot for only 14 days. Meanwhile, Daag director Hriday Shetty has completed his next film 'Pyaar Mein Twist', which is ready for release. If Daag was complete, it will be her debut, but now Kalyug will be her debut.
Deepal was shocked when the Bhatt approached her for the lead role in Blue Film. She says, "When I heard the title, I almost fell off my chair; it was only when director Mohit Suri clarified that this was an anti-porn film where I would play an angry, vociferous victim of exploitation and sexual abuse that I heaved a sigh of relief. Due to market pressure, they have changed the title to Kalyug - I still feel Blue Film was more appropriate. In any case, it is an honour working with the Bhatt banner".
