After 8 years Mahesh Bhatt and Aamir Khan patched up to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the Gujrat government in the Supreme Court. Bhatt says, "I cannot be a silent spectator to what these fascist forces are doing to Aamir Khan. These guys need to be stopped in their tracks." Both have done hit films together, like - 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin', 'Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke', and 'Ghulam'. the rift created between them during the making of Ghulam. He adds, "I am not doing this to better my relation with Aamir. He and I live in two different universes. I am doing this because I know how it feels. I have been there. Dissent is a lonely street to walk on."
