It is a known fact that Sushmita Sen is all set to turn a director with her film Rani Laxmibai, a project which is very close to her heart. Sushmita will also be playing the title role in the film. However, considering that this will be her first attempt at direction, Sushmita does not want to take any chances and is looking for a senior associate director who will help her direct the film.She has also approached some directors like Anurag Kashyap, Sanjay Gadhvi and Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi for learning among others for the same. Sushmita is pretty excited about directing the film and does not want to leave any stone unturned. In fact, she even requested Dharmesh Darshan to excuse her from his film in which she was to star opposite Govinda. Sushmita decided that she will direct Rani Laxmibai. But, she is a little apprehensive about the scenes where she will be also be facing the camera. When contacted, Anurag Kashyap says that someone from their team did approach him and even sent him the research draft. He was pretty keen to be a part of the project but then, they didn’t call him again. He is clueless if they approached me to be an associate director or write the film’s script. On the other hand, Dr. Dwivedi says that he was never offered to direct the film. But she definitely approached me to research on the subject. As Sushmita wants to make the film as realistic as possible, she has approached the Madhya Pradesh government so that she can shoot at Gwalior.
