Dil Chahta Hai debutent director Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film Lakshya has Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta together again.

The story of Lakshya focuses on the life of Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan). As a child, Karan enjoys the luxuries of life, provided by his affluent parents. Although his circumstances should provide many advantages in life, Karan is surrounded by confusion about his future. He’s a student in Delhi but still hasn’t centred on his goal in life…what does he want to achieve? However after joining the army, Karan begins a new chapter in his life and the journey of self-discovery begins. Helping him along this journey into manhood is his girlfriend Romila Dutta (Preity Zinta), who provides support and love unconditionally.

Hrithik will adorn three different looks by sporting different hairstyles in this film. Already riding high after the box hit of Koi Mil Gaya, Hrithik will further affirm his position in Bollywood upon the film's release.

Amitabh Bachchan, he heads an all star cast in Lakshya which is set to redefine Bollywood filmmaking.

The film also stars Om Puri as Subedar Major Pritam Singh, Sharad Kapoor as Major Binod Sengupta, Sushant Singh as captain Jalal Akbar, Raj Zutshi as Major Kaushal Verma, Nawab Shah as Major Satish Babbar and Boman Irani as Mr. Shergill. Made with a whopping budget of around Rs. 35 crores, Lakshya's story is set in the backdrop of 1999 Kargil war with Pakistan.

Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have composed the music of Lakshya. After the huge success of Dil Chahta Hai, the expectations are high from the three musicians who have given a new meaning to Indian music by blending it with new tunes, beats and melodies.

The release date has been set for 18th June 2004.
