Zameer meaning the ego, is the story of a young girl Pooja (Amisha Patel). She falls in love with her Suraj Chauhan (Ajay Devgan), a professor at her college. But Suraj does not reciprocate to her affections. He is in love with Supriya Maheshwari (Mahim Choudhary). Supriya is disabled and Suraj is doing all he possibly can to cure her. But Pooja sees this relationship as a threat. She becomes jealous and eventually betrayed.

So what starts as love at first sight now becomes a dangerous obsession for Pooja. The life of Suraj and the soul of Supriya are shown in a very sensitive yet dangerous and colourful manner in Zameer.

Shooting for this film took place on the island of Diu where most of the song sequences were canned. The film's music is composed by Jatin-Lalit
