Tumsa Nahin Dekha

Tumsa Nahin Dekha, directed by Anurag Bose. Produced by Sa Re Ga Ma and Mahesh Bhatt with music by Nadeem Shravan it is also reminiscent of Aashiqui in the feel of the film.

What will you do to a man who can smooch a girl in the middle of the road, when he doesn’t know her? Beat him up! The bystanders do that. And you wish you can do the same to Mukesh Bhatt and camp. Kiss and tell films are selling like hot cakes today. But Daksh doesn't want to seal his relationship with Jia with a kiss. He wants to open it with one. Daksh Mittal (Emraan Hashmi) is a rich heir who is slated to marry another girl and can inherit millions only if he weds her. He has a Cadbury like butler John Uncle (Anupam Kher) who wants to help him marry the girl he kissed and not lose his millions– Jia (Diya Mirza). Jiya unfortunately is a poor bargirl with a mentally retarded brother. The story is all about whether Daksh Mittal becomes Richie Rich, Devdas or Romeo.

Daksh Mittal (Emraan Hashmi) is a charmingly witty and perpetually drunk millionaire. He comes across a working class girl Jia (Dia Mirza), shoplifting at a mall and it's love at first sight for Daksh. He subsequently discovers that Jia is actually a striptease dancer.

But unfortunately for Daksh and Jia, the timing of this romantic encounter is odd. Daksh is scheduled to marry a properly pedigreed society girl Anhaita Madhwani (Pooja Bharti) whom he detests. But if Daksh doesn't marry Anhaita the heiress, he will not inherit the million-dollar trust.

It is a trite story, made more boring with long patches of nothing happening except Emraan drinking and feeling miserable. Mercifully, though there are no seams despite the fact that a good deal of the film was done by Mahesh Bhatt when the Anurag Bose was sick.

Emraan Hashmi (of Murder fame) is drunk for all three hours of the movie, so it might be unfair to comment on any acting skills he might have been required to have.

Dia Mirza has shed her clothes and inhibitions. Anupam Kher, in the role of the golden-hearted butler, has a totally wasted role.

On the whole, TUMSA NAHIN DEKHA has excellent music as its trumpcard.
