Baghban

Bhagban has been in the news for more than one reason. Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan are pairing after a long time. And Amitabh Bachchan has sung a "holi" song composed by Aadesh Shrivastav. The list is not complete. Salman Khan and Mahima Chaudhary appear in short but meaningful roles.

Baghban is a sensitive family subject that revolves around Amitabh. Baghban poses an intriguing question: will they be there for you when you need them?

The question might seem to be a philosophical one. But it is actually the most practical and simplest question. The search for the answer to this question might through some light into most of the problems that are constantly throttling elders today in our society.

Raj Malhotra (Amithabh) and Pooja (Hema Malini) have four sons. Raj works hard to see his wife and his children live happily. The film portrays his life like a gardener who plants his seeds, tends to his garden and watches his products reap the benefits.

Raj does his job well. He has ensured good lives for his sons. Now he is old. Become weak. Unable to take care of himself.

Now, do the seeds that he has planted, the kids that he have nurtured and brought to wealth and happiness reap him any benefits? He has helped his kids take their first step, but will they help him take his last? Raj struggles to coup up with this situation. Baghban poses a big question towards us: "Can We Depend On Our Family?"

The film tries to enquire the present trend, prevailing among younger generation, in the backdrop of time tested Indian family value system.
