Mera Bachpan - Synopsis

‘Mera Bachpan’ a family drama having a very strong story line revolves around the fun, frolic and trauma today’s modern day children have to undergo due to the past deeds of their parent/s. It’s the story of an upper middle Indian Christian Indian family that consists
of a couple Nicole (Padmini Kolhapure)  & Nicholas (Monish Behl) & their 4 childern – elder son - Nick (17 yrs), elder daughter – Nancy (16yrs) & twin brother & sister Ness & Nikki (7 yrs)

Nancy, Nick & their twin siblings & mother Nicole’s life was terror struck & shattered when Nicholas the head of the family passes away suddenly leaving behind huge debts inherited to lead a royal & pompous life style.

All thes years Nicole chose to fight her own battle & never turned towards her parents for help.

Now after this accident Nicole salvages some courage to establish contact with her parents after a gap of almost 17 years.  Nancy & Nick are amazed to experience the royal pomp of their grandparents & soon their anxieties about of moving into an unknown place is gone as they witness a mansion amidst acres and acres of sprawling land and woods.

Nancy and Nick’s spirits are elated & soon they start to feel that their bad days have been left behind. But they soon realize that their hope is short lived & you are about to witness a twist in the plot, as they are totally unaware of what is in store for them? 

The children’s movements are restricted to a far end of the mansion where all of them are being kept in a hall.

The plot still thickens when Nicole had to leave her children to survive confined to their rooms; totally cut-off from the mainstream & lead a life under the watchful & suspicious eyes of their Grandmother (Helen).

To overcome their boredom and sense of captivity the children come across an attic that is full of antiques, playthings and a piano! The kids soon convert this attic into their play land where they dance, sing and try to somehow live their dreams..

On her children’s request Nicole unveils the mystery behind mystery of her father’s unforgiving stance. Daryl (Tom Alter) – their grandfather considered them as Devil’s children as they were conceived out of his own daughter & his stepbrother against his wishes.

What more is in store for the kids – God knows or maybe Nicole knows.  Lets move forward and see what happens.”

All of a sudden grandfather’s health deteriorates & Nicole has to take Grandfather to London for treatment accompanied by Ralph (Rahul Roy) their estate legal advisor.

Back home the kids are subjected to torture by grandmother with help from Samuels—the butler (Brandon Hill).
 
“The tale takes a sharp turn when Nicole returns from London without their grandfather Darryl & his fate is unknown.  Nicole tries to console her children but is shocked to witness their indifferent & changed behavior & is stunned to note her mother’s behavior towards her own grandchildren. Nicole decides to leave the mansion but is thwarted in her attempt by Samuels and grandmother.

Now what does fate has in store for them. Read on to know more…”

Ness suddenly falls ill and has to be moved to the hospital where he is declared dead under mysterious situations. In a fist of fury Nick and Nancy figures out their own mother Nicole had laid the plot to poison Ness.

Nancy & Nick start to doubt their own mother and decide to take help from the Head of the family i.e grandfather and unfold their mother & their Grandmother’s deeds.

The tale again takes a twist when Nick finds out that their grandfather is no more and their mother Nicole had started leading a life with Ralph.

Nick is speechless and in a state of shock; shares his grief with Nancy and they both start to feel that their mom has been trying to get rid of them but fail to find a reason for such an act.

Bachpan is a story of vengeance and revenge of a child v/s their own mother. It’s a depiction of the selfish motives a woman can enact to achieve all the luxuries in life without being honest to her partner, her parents and above all her own children. The story takes dramatic twist and turn which would hold the viewer to the seats and you can’ t miss the climax.

In a climactic situation through a song and a dance sequence; they bring out their mother’s betrayal and treachery against her own kids.

Did Ness survive a murder attempt …what happened to the other kids? What is Grandmother’s fate...did Nicole’s relationship with Ralph survive the storm. The storyline still unveils a stunning climax.
