Delhi-6Delhi-6 is a Hindi language Indian film by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra; starring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, and Divya Dutta. The movie is reportedly based on Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. It is Mehra's third movie after Aks and Rang De Basanti.

American-born Indian Roshan (Abhishek Bachchan) brings his ailing grandmother (Waheeda Rahman) back to her former home in Chandni Chowk, the walled city of Old Delhi. There he meets Bittu (Sonam Kapoor), the beautiful daughter of a neighbor, and becomes involved in Hindu and Muslim religious riots following attacks attributed to a phantom figure popularly dubbed the "Black Monkey". The title refers to the Postal Index Number code of that part of the city, 110006; it is traditional to use only the final two digits of the pin code after Delhi.

In the early stages of development, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra considered casting newcomers for the movie's lead roles. Frequent changes in casting made headlines, with Hrithik Roshan set to play the lead role, but dropping out due to scheduling problems. The Hindustan Times reported that Akshay Kumar was considered for the lead, but refused. Mehra later stated that the ultimately cast Abhishek Bachchan had been the director's first choice. The film began production December 20, 2007. Rakeysh said he is not involved with the editing.

The movie met with mixed reviews after the release. Nikhat Kazmi Times of India rated the movie 3 out of five stars, saying Watch it for the message of Delhi 6 and the ekdum desi India-feel. Taran Adarsh of India FM, gave the movie one and a half-stars commenting "Delhi-6 has a terribly boring beginning [first hour], an absorbing middle [second half] and a weak end [climax]". However, Arthur J Pais of gave the movie a much better verdict remarking the movie's innovative style and storyline. Hindustan Times Shashi Baliga gave the movie 3 out of 5 saying Mehra sure has his heart in the right place. But couldn’t he have allowed himself...and us, a little more fun?

A.R. Rahman is the music director of this film. Prasoon Joshi is the lyricist. The music was released on 14th January 2009 at the Indian Idol 4 competition. The first video of the song "Masakalli" was released featuring Sonam and Abhishek with a pigeon. However, the song was not part of the original film. According to the director, "The song was not really meant to be part of the narrative. I mean, who would think of putting in a song about a dove in a film like 'Delhi-6'? It just happened. When I came to the pre-climax portion of my script, I was stuck. I needed a continuity link taking the narrative to its finale". Other videos released include the title track Delhi-6, the romantic interlude Rehna Tu as well as the folky Genda Phool.
